Laura Valeri is the author of two story collections, Safe in Your Head (Stephen F. Austin Literary Prize) and The Kinds of Things Saints Do (John Simmons/Iowa Award). Her work appears in Glimmer Train, Waccamaw, Conjunctions, Night Train, Patterson Literary Review, V.I.A. and others. She is Associate Professor of creative writing at Georgia Southern University and founding editor of the literary journal Wraparound South.
